From the hippie hostels and sea-view resorts scattered around Seminyak area, we made our way up to the north to explore the lush greenery, rice paddies, and rainforest of Ubud. Whilst there are plenty of high-end hotels with stunningly beautiful infinity pools in Ubud to choose from, you can also savor your time by renting a private villa, boutique hotel or homestay that will give you the same good quality services like the 5-star hotels can produce.
Who doesn’t know about Hanging Gardens Bali, the first 7-star hotel in the world? Yes, the said flawless hotel is situated in the heart of Ubud. I’ve been daydreaming to stay there someday & it’s currently on my bucket-list! So out of my desperation, I’ve searched for a cheap hotel that has the same setting like the Hanging Gardens, of course, with infinity pool with the rainforest as the backdrop. After a couple of days searching thoroughly all over the net, I finally found what I wanted for. Walking distance to Ubud’s main center but far away enough from the maddening crowd, you’ll find this lovely sanctuary called Bucu View Ubud Resort.
► CHECKING-IN AT THE HOTEL
The trip from Seminyak heading to Ubud via GrabCar went by so fast! We arrived very early at the hotel around noontime. We were warmly greeted by the staff of the hotel and immediately assisted us to our well-cleaned room. They speak good English, very accommodating and friendly. We’ve also received two glasses of orange juice as a complimentary welcome drinks.
► THE DELUXE ROOM
Originally, I booked a superior category room for me and my sister but they gave us the deluxe instead. I didn’t notice it at first because I got carried away by the beautiful setting of the place. However, the deluxe room gave me all the reasons to just shut up and let it pass. As luck would have it, our room was huge, with king size bed (I think? I’m bad at determining bed sizes), balcony overlooking the pool and super chic bathroom with polished gray pebble tile flooring.
With high-speed WiFi connection, TV with cable channels, a toilet that is complete with toiletries and armed with mosquito net, this place really feels like home. I even find it hard to wake-up every morning because their bed was so comfy that you don’t wanna get out of it just yet!
► THE VIEW
Can you imagine how relaxing it can be having this kind of view while sipping a cup of coffee on a rainy afternoon? Mother Nature is truly doing a great job!
► WHAT’S FOR BREAKFAST?
The hotel doesn’t have a buffet-style setup for breakfast, it’s ala carte so you have to choose from their menu. There are 3 breakfast cuisines available: Indonesian Breakfast, American Breakfast, and Continental Breakfast. All are fresh, tasty and is being served together with toast, coffee/tea, a plate of fruits and your choice of fresh juice. The serving is just enough to fuel up and start your day.
► SWIMMING TIME
Their pool area is so hard to resist! Half of our time in Ubud was spent lounging in their pool overseeing the jungle. Even it was raining, you can still spot us in this corner of the hotel. Bucu View Ubud has its own cold spring water located near the swimming pool area.
My experience at Bucu View Ubud was totally great! It was one of my memorable and relaxing trips I’ve ever experienced. Two nights wasn’t really enough to enjoy the whole place, I wish we had more time so that we could’ve stayed a little bit longer. I highly suggest that you should at least spend 3-5 days here and experience the authenticity of Bali. Staying here was one of the highlights of my trip. The impeccable service that they give to their guests will impress you. They also arrange airport shuttle service, car rental and Ubud excursions for their guests. When it comes to hospitality and customer service, I need to give them ☆☆☆☆.
So, how much did it cost me for x2 nights with breakfast (good for two)?
QR 216 or approximately USD 60 = VALUE FOR MONEY!
